Right in the middle of a conversation with a high-powered millennial influencer my jaw dropped. She had never been mentored. Never. By anyone. Then she explained that none of her millennial friends who are also high-influence voices in social media–none of them have been mentored either. How could this be? I have literally had at least 1, 2, 3, 4, 5–okay going on my second hand–I’ve had about 10 mentors in my life. Seriously. Two hands worth of older adults have spoken into my life over the past 35 years. They have offered wisdom, care, strength, correction, protection and invaluable support at key moments of growth and transition. In fact, being mentored is a core value of mine. As is mentoring–that process of pouring into others what we have received.
So, I am elated to announce the newest Freedom Road platform–our coaching and consulting cohorts. Last month, we launched The Leadership Cohort. Each of the women and men in this cohort have been hand picked and are nationally recognized influencers and leaders who we believe will help lead their generation into the next round of the race toward a just world.
Please celebrate with us; the next generation of leaders on Freedom Road!
